Living on the Edge
Mumbai blasts in India in November
2008 have set the city in terror. With hundreds dead and years old monuments destroyed the world saw the city bleeding. Where are we headed? Not towards the best for
sure.
With successful completion of Nuclear Deals this year, India was confident that there would be no further downfall and India will loose no more lives. One wonders where is Indian Defence lacking behind? With constant monitoring, terrorism is still on rise. Ignorance and hatred have lead to growth of terrorist activities. This energy could have been used for development tasks rather than causing much
destruction.
With scares at Delhi Airport and Mumbai Colleges still continuing in, the situation is chaotic. Delhi too is on a red alert. A trip down 5 stars in Delhi show almost empty café houses, pubs, discos with very few parties/gatherings going on. Malls/Cinemas/shopping complexes that used to be well occupied by familes/friends enjoying themselves till the wee hours of the night are now deserted. The silence is felt at places like India Gate too, the much favourite spot for a drive on holidays. Although Delhi is keeping a bold front with prayers and processions, the heart is in fear. Fear of being alive or fear of being
dead.
Television, Radio are creating not only awareness of self safety but are also leading to more fear in the mind. This is indeed a time to count ones blessings. After seeing these attacks one feels that being born in this world is a blessing in itself, the little anxieties, disappointments, craze should not destroy the enthusiasm to live.
