New Delhi. In the year 2000, India made about 3,28 billion Dollar out of the touristic
sector. According to a report from the government it´s an increase of 10% compared to 1999. The number of tourists accommodations raised from 2,48 million to 2,62
million. But India has more options to use. The share part of India at the world tourism branch - worldwide it has been 657 millions tourists - is still too
less.
Hotel branch is expanding - government will relieve investments - searching for foreign "Know -
How"
For the first time the Taj Mahal, the beaches of Goa, the ocean palace of Udaipur,
Madras and Kerala attracted more than 2 million visitors. »
